INTRODUCTION
Your cordless telephone/answering system with Caller ID is designed to
give you flexibility in use and high quality performance.To get the most
from your new cordless telephone/answering system, we suggest that you
take a few minutes right now to read through this instruction manual.
CAUTION: When using telephone equipment, there are basic safety
instructions that should always be followed. Refer to the IMPORTANT
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS provided with this product and save them
for future reference.

MODULAR JACK REQUIREMENTS
You will need an RJ11C type modular jack, which is the most
common type of phone jack and might look like the one pictured
here. If you don’t have a modular jack, call your local phone
company to find out how to get one installed.
IMPORTANT: Because cordless phones operate on electricity, you should
have at least one phone in your home that isn’t cordless, in case the power in
your home goes out.

INSTALLATION AND SET UP
CAUTION: Always disconnect phone cords from the wall outlets before
battery installation or replacement.
INSTALLATION NOTE: Some cordless telephones operate at frequencies
that may cause interference to nearby TVs, microwave ovens, and VCRs. To
minimize or prevent such interference, the base of the cordless telephone
should not be placed near or on top of a TV, microwave oven, or VCR. If
interference continues, moving the cordless telephone farther away from the
TV or VCR will often reduce or eliminate the interference. Certain other
communications devices may also use the 900 MHz frequency for
communication, and, if properly set, these devices may interfere with each
other and/or your new telephone. If you are concerned with interference,
please refer to the owner’s manual for these devices on how to properly set
channels to avoid interference. Typical devices that may use the 900 MHz
frequency for communication include wireless audio/video senders, wireless
computer networks, multi-handset cordless telephone systems, and some long-
range cordless telephone systems.
IMPORTANT INSTALLATION INFORMATION

Never install telephone wiring during a lightning storm.
•
Never install telephone jacks in wet locations unless the jack is
specifically designed for wet locations.
•
Never touch uninsulated telephone wires or terminals, unless the
telephone line has been disconnected at the network interface.

Use caution when installing or modifying telephone lines.
Temporarily disconnect any equipment connected to the phone such as
faxes, other phones, or modems.

INSTALLING THE PHONE
Your cordless telephone/answering system should be placed on a level
surface such as a desk or table top, or you can mount it on a wall.

CONNECTING THE AC (ELECTRICAL) POWER
Plug the power supply cord into the power jack on the bottom of the base
and the other end into an electrical outlet.The in use/charge indicator turns
on to indicate the battery is charging.
Allow the phone to charge for 12 hours prior to first use. If you don’t
properly charge the phone, battery performance is compromised.
NOTE: DO NOT connect the telephone line to the modular jack until the
phone has charged for 12 hours.
CAUTION: Use only the ATLINKS USA, Inc. power supply 5-2521
(black) or 5-2520 (white) that came with this unit. Using other power
supplies may damage the unit.
CONNECTING THE TELEPHONE LINE
1. Plug the one end of the telephone line cord into the jack TEL LINE on the
bottom of the base and the other end into a modular wall phone jack.
2. Set the RINGER switch (on the handset) to ON, and place the handset in
the cradle.

WALL MOUNTING
NOTE: For best results, leave the phone on a flat surface during initial
charging before you hang the phone on the wall.
If you want to mount the phone on a wall, slip the mounting holes (on the
back of the base) over the wall plate posts, and slide the unit down into
place. (Wall plate not included.)

There are three programmable menus available: Language,Tone/Pulse
Dialing, and Local Area Code.
SETTING THE DISPLAY LANGUAGE
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not inTALK mode).
2. Press and release flash/program button until 1 ENG 2 FRA 3 ESP shows
in the display.The default setting is English
3. Use the handset number pad or press the left or right arrow buttons to
enter the desired setting. For example, to choose English press the
number 1 key.
4. When finished, press and release flash/program button again to store
the setting.You will hear a confirmation tone, and the unit enters the
Tone/Pulse Dialing menu.
TONE/PULSE DIALING
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not inTALK mode).
2. Press and release the flash/program button until 1TONE 2PULSE shows
in the display.The default setting isTONE.
3. Use the handset number pad or press the left or right arrow buttons to
enter the desired setting. For example, to chooseTone dialing, press the
number 1 key.
4. Press the flash/program button again to store.You will hear a confirmation
tone, and the unit enters the Local Area Code Setting menu.
SETTING THE LOCAL AREA CODE
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not inTALK mode).
2. Press and release flash/program button until ENTER AREA CODE shows
on the display.
3. Use the handset number pad to enter your three digit area code.
4. When finished, press and release flash/program button again to store
the area code and exit setup.You will hear a confirmation tone.
NOTE: If you make a mistake, repeat steps 1-3.

This section shows you how to set up your answering system to receive incoming
calls. Before you begin the setup, you must turn on the answering system.
•
Press the answer on/off button on the side of the base to turn the
answering system on and off.
NOTE: The answering system displays “- -” when it is off.
SETTING THE VOICE TIME/DAY STAMP
1. Make sure the answering system is ON.
2. Press and hold the day/check button to set the day of the week.
3. Press the hour button to set the hour (a.m. or p.m.).
4. Press the min button to set the minute. When you press and hold the
min button, the time advances in 5-minute intervals.
5. Press and release the day/check button to review the day and time settings.

SETTING THE RING SELECT
Use the RING SELECT switch on the bottom of the base to select the
number of times you want the phone to ring before the system answers
the call.You may choose three or five rings.
SPEAKER VOLUME
Use the volume up or down to adjust speaker volume to a comfortable level.
RECORDING THE OUTGOING ANNOUNCEMENT
For best results when recording, you should be about nine inches from the
microphone, and eliminate as much background noise as possible.
1. Make sure the answering system is ON.
2. Press and hold the announce button.You need to hold the button until
you finish the announcement.
3. Begin talking after you hear the beep.
4. Release the button when you finish your announcement.
If you choose not to record an outgoing announcement, a default
announcement will play.To return to the default announcement after you
have recorded your own outgoing announcement, press and hold the
announce button and release it when you hear the beep.
Sample Outgoing Announcement
Hi, this is (use your name here), I can't answer the phone right now, so please leave your
name, number and a brief message after the tone, and I'll get back to you. Thanks.

CORDLESS PHONE BASICS
MAKING A CALL
To make a call:
•
Press the TALK/CALLBACK button before you dial.
•
Press TALK/CALLBACK button or place the handset in the base to
hang up.
IMPORTANT: Because cordless phones operate on electricity, you should
have at least one phone in your home that isn’t cordless, in case the power in
your home goes out.
REDIAL
Press the redial button to redial the last number you called (up to 32
digits).
If you get a busy signal, and want to keep dialing the number, pressTALK/
CALLBACK to turn off the phone. PressTALK/CALLBACK again to turn it
back on. Then press redial to dial the number.
RECEIVING A CALL
To answer a call you must press the TALK/CALLBACK button on the
handset before you can talk.
FLASH
Use the flash/program button to activate custom calling services such
as call waiting or call transfer, which are available through your local
phone company.
TIP: Don't use the TALK/CALLBACK button to activate custom calling
services such as call waiting, or you’ll hang up the phone.
VOLUME
When the phone is ON, press the CID/VOL left (-) and right (+) arrow
buttons to adjust the handset volume.There are four settings. VOL 1 is the
lowest level and VOL 4 is the loudest.

RINGER SWITCH
The ringer switch must be ON for the handset to ring during incoming calls.
CANCEL
Press the *tone/cancel button to cancel any command you initiated.
IN USE/INDICATOR LIGHT
The phone is ON or being charged when the in use/charge indicator on the
base is turned on.
FINDING THE HANDSET
This feature helps to locate a misplaced handset.
Press the page button on the base.The display shows PAGING.The
handset beeps for about two minutes or until you pressTALK/CALLBACK
on the handset or press the page button on the base.
NOTE: You can still page the handset with the ringer off.
CHANNEL BUTTON
While talking, you might need to manually change the channel in order to
reduce static caused by baby monitors, garage door openers, or other
cordless phones. Press and release the channel/delete button to advance
to the next clear channel.
TEMPORARY TONE
This feature enables pulse (rotary) service phone users to access touch-
tone services offered by banks, credit card companies, etc. Press the *tone
button to temporarily make the phone touch-tone compatible.To get
information about your bank account, for example, you would:
1. Call the bank’s information line.
2. Press the *tone key, when your call is answered.
3. Follow the voice menu instructions to get the information. When you
hang up, the phone goes back to pulse (rotary) service.

CALLER ID FEATURES
This unit receives and displays information transmitted by your local
phone company.This information can include the phone number, date, and
time; or the name, phone number, date, and time.The unit can store up to
40 calls for later review.
TRANSFERRING CALLER ID RECORDS TO MEMORY
You may transfer a Caller ID record to the phone’s internal memory.
1. Use the CID/VOL(-) arrow or CID/VOL(+) arrow button to scroll to the
desired record.
2. Press the memory button, and then press the desired memory location.
For example, press the number 1 key to store the record in memory
location 1.You will hear a confirmation tone.
To replace a Caller ID record stored in a memory location with a new
Caller ID record:
1. Repeat steps 1 through 2 inTransferring Caller ID Records to Memory.
2. Press the memory button and REPLACE MEMO? shows in the display.
3. Press *tone/cancel to exit, or press memory again and the new CID
record replaces the old CID record in that memory location.You will hear
a confirmation tone.

CALLER ID WITH CALL WAITING
Provided you subscribe to Caller ID with Call Waiting service from your
phone company, you may see who is calling when you hear the call waiting
beep.The caller identification information appears in the display after you
hear the tone.

Press the flash/program button to put the current call on hold so that
you can answer the incoming call.
RECEIVING AND STORING CALLS
When you receive a call, Caller ID information is transmitted by the phone
company to your telephone between the first and second ring.
VERY IMPORTANT: In order to use all of the features of this unit, you must
subscribe to either the standard Name/Number Caller ID Service or Caller ID
with Call Waiting Service available through your local telephone company. To
know who is calling while you are on the phone, you must subscribe to Caller
ID with Call Waiting Service.
When the memory is full, a new call automatically replaces the oldest call
in memory. NEW appears in the display for calls received that have not
been reviewed.
NOTE: Check with your local phone company regarding name
service availability.
REVIEWING MESSAGES
As calls are received and stored, the display is updated to let you know
how many calls have been received.
•
Press the CID/VOL left (-) arrow button to scroll through the call records
from the most recent to the oldest.
•
Press the CID/VOL right (+) arrow button to scroll through the call
records from the oldest to the newest.
DELETING RECORDS
Use the channel/delete button to erase the record currently shown in the
display or all records.

1. Press channel/delete button.The display shows DELETE?
2. Press delete/channel again to erase the current record.The display
shows DELETED, and you will hear a confirmation tone.
DELETING ALL RECORDS
1. Press and hold channel/delete.The display shows DELETE ALL?
2. Press channel/delete again to erase all records.You will hear a
confirmation tone.
DIALING A CALLER ID NUMBER
1. Make sure the phone is OFF.
2. Use the CID/VOL left (-) and right (+) arrow buttons to display the
desired Caller ID record.
3. Press theTALK/CALLBACK button to dial the number.
CHANGING THE NUMBER FORMAT
The format/answerer button lets you change the format of the displayed
number.The available formats are as follows.
7-digit
7-digit telephone number.
10-digit
11-digit
3-digit area code + 7-digit telephone number.
long distance code “1” + 3-digit area code + 7-digit
telephone number.
1. Use the CID/VOL left (-) and right (+) arrow buttons to scroll to the
number you want to call back.
2. If the number will not dial as shown, press the format/answerer button.
Repeat if necessary, until the correct number of digits are shown.
3. Press TALK/CALLBACK.
NOTE: To clear the local area code, press and release flash/program, until
ENTER AREA CODE is displayed. Then press channel/delete to delete the
current local area code, or enter “000 ” to replace the current one.

THE MEMORY FEATURE
Store up to ten 24-digit numbers in memory for quick dialing.This memory
feature is in addition to the 40 Caller ID records that can be stored in memory.
STORING A NUMBER IN MEMORY
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not inTALK mode).
2. Press the memory button.
3. Press the desired memory location number (0 through 9).
4. Press the memory button again.The display shows ENTER NAME.
NOTE: If you don’t want to enter the name, skip step 5.
5. Use the keypad to store a name (up to 15 characters). For example, to
enter the name Bill Smith, press the two key twice for the letter B, press
the four key three times for the letter I, and press the five key three
times for the letter L. After one second, press the five key three times
again for the second letter L and press the one key to insert a space
between the letter L and S. Press the seven key four times for the letter
S, press the six key once for the letter M, press the four key three times
for the letter I, press the eight key once for the letterT, and press the four
key twice for the letter H.
6. Press the memory button to save the name.The display shows
ENTER NUMBER.
7. Use the number keypad to enter the telephone number you want to
store (up to 24 digits).
8. Press memory again to store the number.You will hear a confirmation tone.
CHANGING A STORED NUMBER
1. Repeat steps 1 through 7 in Storing a Name and Number in Memory.
2. Press the memory button. “REPLACE MEMO? “shows in the display.
3. Press *tone/cancel to exit, or press the memory button to store the
number.You will hear a confirmation tone.

DIALING A STORED NUMBER
1. Make sure the phone is ON by pressing theTALK/CALLBACK button.
2. Press memory.
3. Press the number (0-9) for the desired memory location.The number
dials automatically.
DIALING CALLER ID NUMBERS
1. Make sure the phone is OFF.
2. Press memory.
3. Use the CID/VOL left (-) and right (+) arrow buttons to scroll through the
numbers stored in memory until the desired number is shown.
4. PressTALK/CALLBACK.The number dials automatically.
IMPORTANT: If you make test calls to emergency numbers stored in memory,
remain on the line and briefly explain the reason for the call to the dispatcher.
Also, it’s a good idea to make these calls in off-peak hours, such as early
morning or late evening.
CHAIN DIALING FROM MEMORY
Use this feature to make calls which require a sequence of numbers such
as using a calling card for a frequently called long distance number.
Basically, you dial each part of the sequence from memory.The following
example shows how you can use chain dialing to make a call through a
long distance service:

1. Make sure the phone is ON.
2. Press memory and then press 7.
3. When you hear the access tone, press memory and then press 8.
4. At the next access tone, press memory and then 9.
TIP: Wait for the access tones before pressing the next memory button, or
your call might not go through.
INSERTING A PAUSE IN THE DIALING SEQUENCE
Press the # pause button to insert a delay in the dialing sequence of a
stored telephone number when a pause is needed to wait for a dial tone
(for example after you dial 9 for an outside line, or to wait for a computer
access tone). Each pause counts as one digit in the dialing sequence.
Pause shows in the display as a “P ”.
REVIEWING AND DELETING STORED NUMBERS
1. Press the memory button.
2. Use the CID/VOL left (-) and right (+) arrow buttons to scroll to the desired
memory location or press 0-9.
3. While the entry is displayed, press the channel/delete button.The
display shows DELETE ?
4. Press channel/delete again to erase the current record.You will hear a
confirmation tone.
ANSWERING SYSTEM OPERATION
This section discusses the buttons and features on the answering system.
MESSAGES INDICATOR
The messages indicator shows you the number of new messages you
have received.The answer on/off button must be turned on for the
messages indicator to work.

SCREENING CALLS FROM THE BASE
You can screen incoming calls by waiting for the caller to begin leaving a
message (to hear who it is), then pick up the handset, and pressTALK/
CALLBACK to talk to the caller.The answering system automatically stops
recording when you activate the handset or pick up an extension phone.
TIP: Make sure the volume on the base is set loud enough to hear your
incoming calls.
MESSAGE PLAYBACK
The messages indicator lets you know when you have messages.To play
messages, press the play/stop button on the handset or the base.
If you use the handset to play a message, please make sure your handset
is off and press format/answerer to access the answering machine.
While a message is playing, you can do the following:

Press play/stop button on the handset or the base to stop the
message playback.
Press the review button on the handset, or the left arrow (-) button on
the base, to go to the previous messages.
Press and release the skip button on the handset, or the (+) right arrow
button on the base to go to the next message.
Press erase on the handset or base to erase the message that is
currently playing.
MEMORY FULL
When the memory is full, the system answers after 10 rings.You need to
erase some messages so the answering system can record new messages.
ERASING MESSAGES
•
To erase a message, press play/stop on the base and press and release
erase button on the base to erase the message that is playing.
•
To erase all messages, press and hold the erase button on the base
when messages have stopped playing.

To erase a message from the handset:
1. Press format/answerer button on the handset.
2. Press play/stop on the handset.
3. Press 0/erase on the handset to erase the message that is playing.
NOTE: Erased messages cannot be restored. Also, be careful you don't press
the erase button as the next unheard message is playing because that message
will also be erased.
LEAVING A MEMO
Use the Memo feature to leave a message.
1. Press and hold the memo button.You need to hold the button until you
finish the message.
2. Begin talking after you hear the beep.
3. Release the memo button when you finish.
REMOTE ACCESS
This section explains two types of remote access: using the handset to
access the answering system and accessing the answering system from

USING THE HANDSET
Press the format/answerer button to access the answering system from the
cordless handset.

After you access the answering system, use the marked handset keys just
as if you were pressing the corresponding buttons on the base (see
"Answering System Operation" for details on functions).To make it easy
for you, the functions are listed on the handset above each number. For
example, to play messages:
1. Press the format/answerer button.
2. Press the 2 button (play/stop.)
3. When you are finished listening to your messages, press format/
answerer again.
ANSWERER INDICATOR
The remote answering system is active when ANSWERER REMOTE is
displayed on the handset.
SCREENING CALLS FROM THE HANDSET
When the phone rings:
1. Press the format/answerer button to access the answering system.The
display shows CALL SCREENING.
2. Listen as the caller leaves a message.
3. Press theTALK/CALLBACK button to speak to the caller or press
answerer to stop screening the call.
MEMORY FULL
When the memory is full, the system answers after 10 rings, beeps, and
waits for the caller to enter the 3-digit security code. If a security code is not
entered within 10 seconds after the unit beeps, the phone hangs up.
You need to erase some of the messages so the system can record new
messages.
NOTE: The unit also answers after the 10th ring if it is turned off. To access
the answering system, enter your 3-digit security code after you hear the beep.

You can access your answering system from any touch-tone phone by entering
your 3-digit security code after you hear the outgoing announcement.
1. Dial the phone number for your answering system.
2. Enter the security code after you hear the tone.
3. Follow the voice menu to use the answering system’s remote functions.

TIP: You can bypass the outgoing announcement by pressing any numbered
key on the keypad while the announcement is playing. Then enter your
security code to access the answering system.
CHANGING THE SECURITY CODE
The default security code for accessing the answering system from
another location is 1 2 3.You must use the handset to change the security
code. With the phone off (not inTALK mode), follow these steps:
1. Press the format/answerer button.
2. Press * tone.
3. Enter three numbers to be used as the new security code.
4. Press * tone again.
TIP: After pressing format/answerer, press *tone after you hear the voice
menu. Then after you enter the new security code and press *tone again, you
will hear the digits you entered followed with a confirmation tone at the
earpiece of the handset.

HEADSET AND BELT CLIP OPERATION
CONNECTING A HEADSET TO THE HANDSET
For hands free conversation, use a headset with your cordless handset.
1. Connect the headset to the HEADSET jack on the side of the handset.
The handset receiver and microphone are disabled when the headset is
connected.
2. Adjust the headset to rest comfortably on top of your head and over
your ear. Move the microphone to approximately 2 to 3 inches from
your mouth.
3. Press theTALK/CALLBACK button to answer or make calls.
4. To return to normal operation, unplug the headset from the jack.
CONNECTING THE BELT CLIP
To attach the belt clip (provided with the 26998 only), insert the sides of the
belt clip into the slots on each side of the handset. Snap the ends of the
belt clip into place.

CHANGING THE BATTERY
Make sure the telephone is OFF before you replace battery.
1. Remove the battery compartment door.
2. Disconnect the battery plug from the jack in the handset
battery compartment and remove the battery pack.
3. Insert the new battery pack and connect the battery plug.
4. Put the battery compartment door back on.
5. Place handset in the base to charge. If you don’t
charge the handset battery properly (for 12 hours)
when you first set up the phone and/or when you
install a new battery pack, the battery’s long-term
performance will be compromised.
BATTERY SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Do not burn, disassemble, mutilate, or puncture. Like
other batteries of this type, toxic materials could be
released which can cause injury.

INTRODUCCIÓN
Su teléfono inalámbrico /máquina contestadora con Identificador de Llamadas
está diseñado para darle flexibilidad de uso y funcionamiento de alta calidad. Para
obtener el máximo rendimiento de su teléfono inalámbrico /máquina
contestadora, le sugerimos se tome unos minutos ahora mismo para leer este
manual de instrucciones.

REQUISITOS DE CONEXIÓN
Para conectar el teléfono se necesita un enchufe modular telefónico
RJ11C, que es el tipo de enchufe más común y se parece al ilustrado. Si
usted no tiene este tipo de enchufe, llame a su compañía telefónica local
para preguntar cómo conseguirlo.
CUIDADO: Como los teléfonos inalámbricos operan con electricidad, usted
debe tener por lo menos un teléfono en su casa que no sea inalámbrico, en
caso de una interrupción de corriente.

INSTALACIÓN Y PROGRAMACIÓN
CUIDADO: Desconecte el cable telefónico del enchufe de la pared antes
de instalar o cambiar las baterías.
NOTA SOBRE LA INSTALACIÓN: Algunos teléfonos inalámbricos operan a
frecuencias que pueden causar interferencia con aparatos de televisión, hornos
de microondas, hornos, o videocaseteras que se encuentren cerca de este
aparato. Para minimizar o evitar dicha interferencia, la base del teléfono
inalámbrico no debe ser colocada cerca o encima de la televisión, de un horno
de microondas, o de la videocasetera. Si dicha interferencia continúa, mueva el
teléfono lejos del aparato eléctrico causante de la interferencia. Algunos otros
accesorios para la comunicación pueden utilizar frecuencias de 900 MHz para
comunicarse, y si no están adecuadamente instalados, estos aparatos pueden
interferir entre sí, o con su aparato de teléfono nuevo. Si usted teme tener
problemas con esta interferencia, refiérase al manual de instrucciones de dichos
accesorios para ver cómo puede programar los canales para evitar esta
interferencia. Los accesorios típicos que pueden utilizar la frecuencia de 900

PARA INSTALAR EL TELÉFONO

Conecte el cable de corriente dentro del enchufe de corriente en la parte de debajo
de la base y el otro extremo en un enchufe de corriente eléctrica. El indicador de
en uso/ carga se ilumina para para indicar que la batería se está cargando.
Deje que el teléfono se cargue por lo menos durante 12 horas antes de usarlo por
primera vez. Si usted no carga el teléfono adecuadamente, la calidad del
funcionamiento de la batería podría deteriorarse.
NOTA: NO CONECTE la línea telefónica dentro del enchufe modular hasta
que el teléfono haya sido cargado durante 12 horas.
CUIDADO: Utilice únicamente el cable de corriente ATLINKS USA , Inc.
5-2521 (negro) o 5-2520 (blanco) que es compatible con esta unidad. El
uso de otros cables de corriente puede resultar en daño al aparato.
PARA CONECTAR EL CABLE DE LÍNEA TELEFÓNICA
1. Conecte un extremo del cable de línea telefónica dentro del enchufe marcado
“TEL LINE” en la parte de abajo de la base y el otro extremo en un enchufe
modular telefónico de pared.
2. Coloque el selector del timbre (“RINGER”) (en el auricular), en la posición de
encendido (ON), y coloque el auricular sobre la base.

MONTAJE SOBRE PARED
NOTA: Para mejores resultados, deje el teléfono sobre una superficie plana
durante la carga inicial y antes de que usted instale el teléfono sobre la pared.
Si usted quiere instalar el teléfono sobre la pared, deslice los agujeros para
montaje (en la parte posterior de la base) sobre los postecitos de la placa de pared

Hay la posibilidad de escoger entre tres menús programables: Idioma, Marcado
porTono/ Pulso, o Clave de Área Local.
PARA PROGRAMAR EL IDIOMA DE LA PANTALLA
1. Asegúrese de que el teléfono esté apagado (OFF) (no en modalidad para
hablar –“TALK”-).
2. Oprima y suelte el botón “flash/program” hasta que la indicación
“1 ENG 2 FRA 3 ESP” aparezca en la pantalla. La programación de fábrica es inglés.
3. Utilice el teclado numérico en el auricular, u oprima los botones de las flechas a
la izquierda o derecha para inscribir la programación deseada. Por ejemplo,
para escoger inglés, oprima la tecla del número 1.
4. Cuando haya terminado, oprima y suelte nuevamente el botón “flash/
program” para almacenar esta programación. Usted escuchará un tono de
confirmación, y el aparato entra en el menú de Marcado porTono/ Pulso (“Tone/
Pulse Dialing”).
PARA MARCAR POR TONO/ PULSO
1. Asegúrese de que el teléfono esté apagado (OFF) (no en modalidad para hablar
–“TALK”-).
2. Oprima y suelte el botón “flash/program” hasta que la indicación
“1TONO 2 PULSO” aparezca en la pantalla. La programación de fábrica esTONO.
3. Utilice el teclado numérico en el auricular, u oprima los botones de las flechas a
la izquierda o derecha para inscribir la programación deseada. Por ejemplo,
para escoger Marcado porTono, oprima la tecla del número 1.
4. Cuando haya terminado, oprima y suelte nuevamente el botón “flash/program”
para almacenar esta programación. Usted escuchará un tono de confirmación, y
el aparato entra en el menú de Programación de Clave de Área.
PARA PROGRAMAR LA CLAVE DE ÁREA
1. Asegúrese de que el teléfono esté apagado (OFF) (no en modalidad para
hablar –“TALK”-).
2. Oprima y suelte el botón “flash/program” hasta que la indicación “INSCRIB
AREA LOCAL” aparezca en la pantalla.
3. Utilice el teclado numérico para inscribir su clave de área de tres dígitos.
4. Cuando haya terminado, oprima y suelte nuevamente el botón “flash/program”
para almacenar esta programación y salir de programación. Usted escuchará un
tono de confirmación.
NOTA: Si usted comete un error, repita los pasos 1-3.

Esta sección le muestra cómo programar su sistema contestador para recibir
llamadas entrantes. Antes de comenzar la programación, usted puede encender su
sistema contestador.

Oprima el botón “on/off” al costado de la base para activar/ desactivar el
aparato.
NOTA: El aparato indica “- -“ cuando está desactivado.
PARA PROGRAMAR EL ANUNCIO ORAL DE HORA/FECHA
1. Asegúrese de que el sistema contestador esté encendido (ON).
2. Oprima y sostenga el botón “day/check” para programar el día de
la semana.
3. Oprima el botón de la hora para inscribir la hora (a.m. o p.m.).
4. Oprima el botón “min” para programar los minutos. Cuando usted oprime y
sostiene el botón de los minutos, la hora avanza a intervalos de 5 minutos.
5. Oprima y suelte el botón “day/check” para revisar las programaciones del día y
la hora.

PARA PROGRAMAR LA SELECCIÓN DEL TIMBRE
Utilice el selector del timbre (“RINGER SELECT”) en la parte de abajo de la base
para seleccionar el número de veces que usted quiera que su teléfono suene antes
de que el sistema conteste la llamada. Usted puede escoger entre 3 y 5 timbres.
VOLUMEN DEL ALTAVOZ
Utilice los botones para aumentar o disminuir el volumen para ajustarlo a un nivel
agradable.
PARA GRABAR EL ANUNCIO SALIENTE
Para mejores resultados mientras graba, usted debe estar a alrededor de nueve
pulgadas del micrófono, y elimine tanto ruido de fondo como le sea posible.
1. Asegúrese de que el sistema contestador esté encendido (ON).
2. Oprima y sostenga el botón para anuncio. Usted necesita oprimir este botón
hasta que termine de grabar el anuncio.
3. Empiece a hablar después de que usted escuche el tono.
4. Suelte el botón cuando usted haya terminado el anuncio.
Si usted prefiere no grabar un anuncio saliente, un anuncio pre-programado de
fábrica se reproduce. Para regresar a ese anuncio de fábrica después de que usted
haya grabado su propio anuncio saliente, oprima y sostenga el botón de anuncio, y
suéltelo cuando escuche el tono.
Ejemplo de anuncio saliente
Hola, este/esta es (use aquí su nombre), no puedo atender el teléfono en este momento, así que por
favor deje su nombre, número y un mensaje breve después del tono, y yo le llamaré. Gracias.
PARA REVISAR EL ANUNCIO

OPERACIÓN BÁSICA DEL TELÉFONO
PARA HACER UNA LLAMADA
Para llamar:

Oprima el botón “TALK/CALLBACK” antes de marcar.
Oprima el botón “TALK/CALLBACK” o coloque el auricular sobre la base
para colgar.
IMPORTANTE: Como los teléfonos inalámbricos funcionan con electricidad,
usted debe tener por lo menos un teléfono en su casa que no sea inalámbrico,
en caso de que haya un corte de corriente.
PARA VOLVER A MARCAR (REDIAL)
Oprima el botón “redial” para volver a marcar el último número que usted marcó
(hasta 32 dígitos).
Si usted obtiene una señal de ocupado y quiere seguir marcando este número, oprima el
botón “TALK/CALLBACK” para desactivar el teléfono. Oprima nuevamente el botón “TALK/
CALLBACK” para volver a activarlo. Después oprima el botón para volver a marcar
(“redial”) para marcar el número.
PARA RECIBIR UNA LLAMADA
Para contestar una llamada usted tiene que oprimir el botón para hablar (“TALK/
CALLBACK”) antes de que usted empiece la conversación.
BOTÓN PARA SERVICIOS ESPECIALES (“FLASH”)
Utilice el botón para servicios especiales (“flash/program”) para activar servicios
especiales como llamada en espera o transferencia de llamada, que le son
disponibles a través de su compañía telefónica local.
SUGERENCIA: No utilice el botón “TALK/CALLBACK” para activar servicios
especiales como llamada en espera porque de hacerlo, usted colgará el teléfono.
VOLUMEN
Cuando el teléfono esté activado (ON), oprima el botón de volumen (“CID/VOL”)
con la felcha a la izquierda (-) o a la derecha (+) para ajustar el volumen del
auricular. Hay cuatro niveles de volumen. El nivel “VOL 1” es el más bajo y “VOL
4” es el más alto.

SELECTOR DEL TIMBRE
El selector del timbre debe estar activado (ON) para que suene durante las
llamadas entrantes.
PARA CANCELAR
Oprima el botón “*tone/cancel” para cancelar cualquier comando que usted
haya iniciado.
INDICADOR LUMINOSO DE USO
El teléfono está activado (ON) o está cargando cuando el indicador luminoso de
uso en la base esté iluminado.
PARA ENCONTRAR UN AURICULAR EXTRAVIADO
Esta función le ayuda a localizar el auricular extraviado.
Oprima el botón “PAGE” en la base. La pantalla mostrará la indicación
“LOCALIZANDO”. El auricular emitirá tonos continuamente durante
aproximadamente dos minutos o hasta que usted oprima el botón “TALK/
CALLBACK” en el auricular, u oprima “page” en la base.
NOTA: Usted puede todavía localizar el auricular con el timbre apagado.
BOTÓN DE CANALES
Mientras usted está hablando, usted puede necesitar cambiar manualmente el
canal para poder reducir la estática ocasionada por algún monitor de bebé, control
remoto para abrir la puerta del garage, u otros teléfonos inalámbricos. Oprima y
suelte el botón “channel/delete” para avanzar al siguiente canal claro.
TONO TEMPORAL
Esta función le permite a los usuarios de servicio telefónico de pulso (rotatorio) el
tener acceso a los servicios de tono que ofrecen los bancos, las compañías de
tarjetas de crédito, etc., simplemente oprimiendo el botón “*tone” para hacer el
teléfono temporalmente compatible con las funciones de tono (touch-tone). Para
obtener información sobre su cuenta bancaria, por ejemplo, usted tiene que:
1. Llamar a la línea de información del banco.
2. Oprimir el botón “*tone” después de que su llamada ha sido contestada.
3. Seguir las instrucciones orales para completar su transacción. Cuando usted
cuelga, el teléfono vuelve automáticamente a la modalidad para marcar por pulso.

FUNCIONES DEL IDENTIFICADOR DE LLAMADAS (CALLER ID)
Este aparato recibe y muestra información transmitida por su compañía telefónica
local. La información puede incluir el número telefónico, fecha y hora; o el
nombre, número telefónico, fecha y hora. El aparato puede almacenar hasta 40
llamadas para ser revisadas después.
PARA TRANSFERIR ARCHIVOS DEL IDENTIFICADOR DE LLAMADAS A
LA MEMORIA
Usted puede transferir un archivo del Identificador de Llamadas (Caller ID) a la
memoria interna de su aparato telefónico.
1. Utilice el botón para revisar los archivos del Identificador de Llamadas (“CID/
VOL” con la flecha (-) o (+) para recorrer los archivos hasta llegar al archivo
deseado.
2. Oprima el botón de memoria, y después oprima la localización de memoria
deseada. Por ejemplo, oprima la tecla numérica del 1 para almacenar el archivo
en la localización de memoria 1. Usted escuchará un tono de confirmación.
Para reemplazar un archivo del Identificador de Llamadas en una localización de
memoria con otro archivo:
1. Repita los pasos 1 y 2 de la sección “ParaTransferir Archivos del Identificador
de Llamadas a la Memoria.”
2. Oprima el botón de memoria y la indicación “REMPLAZAR MEMO?” aparecerá
en la pantalla.
3. Oprima el botón “*tone/cancel” para salir, u oprima el botón de memoria
nuevamente y el nuevo archivo del Identificador de Llamadas reemplazará al
viejo en esa localización de memoria. Usted escuchará un tono de confirmación.

Suponiendo que usted está suscrito al servicio de Caller ID con Call Waiting a
través de su compañía telefónica, usted será capaz de ver quién está llamando
cuando escucha el tono de Call Waiting. La información de la persona que llama
aparece en la pantalla después de que usted escucha el tono.

Oprima el botón “flash/program” para poner a la persona con la que está
hablando en espera y así poder contestar la llamada entrante.
PARA RECIBIR Y ALMACENAR LLAMADAS
Cuando usted recibe una llamada, la información es transmitida por la compañía
telefónica a suTeléfono con Identificador de Llamadas (Caller ID) entre el primero y
el segundo timbre.
IMPORTANTE: Para poder utilizar las funciones del Identificador de
Llamadas con este aparato, usted debe suscribirse ya sea al Servicio Estandar
de Identificador de Llamadas de Nombre/Número, o al Servicio de
Identificador de Llamadas con Llamada en Espera (Caller ID with Call
Waiting). Para saber quién llama mientras usted está en el teléfono, usted
debe suscribirse al Servicio de Identificador de Llamadas con Llamada en
Espera (Caller ID with Call Waiting).
Cuando la memoria está llena, una llamada nueva automáticamente reemplaza a la
llamada más antigua en la memoria. La indicación de llamadas nuevas (“NUEVA”)
aparecerá en la pantalla para llamadas recibidas que no han sido revisadas.
NOTA: Verifique con su compañía telefónica local con respecto a la
disponibilidad de servicio de nombre.
PARA REVISAR ARCHIVOS
A medida que se reciben y se almacenan las llamadas, la pantalla se actualiza para
hacerle saber cuántas llamadas se han recibido.

Oprima el botón del Identificador de Llamadas (Caller ID) con la flecha hacia la
izquierda (-) para recorrer los archivos desde el más reciente hasta el más antiguo.

PARA BORRAR ARCHIVOS
Utilice el botón “channel/delete” para borrar el archivo individual que aparece en
la pantalla, o todos los archivos.
PARA BORRAR EL ARCHIVO ACTUAL
1. Oprima el botón “channel/delete.” La pantalla indicará “BORRAR?.”
2. Oprima nuevamente el botón “channel/ delete” para borrar el archivo actual. La pantalla
muestra la indicación “BORRADO,” y usted escuchará un tono de confirmación.
PARA BORRAR TODOS LOS ARCHIVOS
1. Oprima y sostenga el botón “channel/delete” hasta que el aparato emita un

LA FUNCIÓN DE MEMORIA
Usted puede almacenar hasta diez números de 24 dígitos en la memoria para
marcado rápido. Esta función es además de los 40 archivos de del Identificador de
Llamadas que pueden ser almacenados en la memoria.
PARA ALMACENAR UN NOMBRE Y NÚMERO EN LA MEMORIA
1. Asegúrese de que el teléfono esté apagado (OFF) (no en modalidad de “TALK”).
2. Oprima el botón de memoria (“mem”).
3. Oprima el número deseado de la localización de memoria (0 al 9).
4. Oprima el botón de memoria nuevamente. La pantalla le indica que inscriba el
nombre (“INSCRIBA NOMBRE”).
NOTA: Si usted no quiere inscribir el nombre, salte el paso 5.
5. Utilice el teclado para almacenar un nombre (hasta 15 caracteres). Por ejemplo,
para inscribir “Bill Smith”, oprima la tecla del 2 dos veces para la letra B. Oprima
la tecla del 4 tres veces para la letra I. Oprima la tecla del 5 tres veces para la L.
Después de un segundo, oprima la tecla del 5 tres veces para la segunda L.
Oprima la tecla del 1 para inscribir un espacio entre las letras L y S. Oprima la
tecla del 7 cuatro veces para la letra S. Oprima la tecla del 6 una vez para la M;
oprima el 4 tres veces para la I; oprima el 8 para laT; y el 4 dos veces para la H.
6. Oprima el botón de memoria nuevamente para salvar el nombre. La pantalla le
indica que inscriba el número telefónico (“INSCRIBA NUMERO”).
7. Utilice el teclado numérico para inscribir el número telefónico que usted quiera
almacenar (hasta 24 dígitos).
8. Oprima nuevamente el botón de memoria para almacenar el número. Usted
escuchará un tono de confirmación.
PARA CAMBIAR UN NÚMERO ALMACENADO
1. Repita los pasos del 1 al 7 de la sección “Para Almacenar un Nombre y Número
en la Memoria.”
2. Oprima el botón de memoria. La indicación “REMPLAZAR MEMO?” aparece en
la pantalla.

congestionadas, como temprano por la mañana o tarde por la noche.
MARCADO EN CADENA DESDE LA MEMORIA
Use esta función para hacer llamadas que requieren una secuencia de números
como el usar una tarjeta para llamar por teléfono o un número de larga distancia
al que usted llama frecuentemente. Básicamente, usted marca cada parte de la
secuencia desde la memoria. El siguiente ejemplo le muestra cómo puede usted
utilizar el marcado en cadena para hacer una llamada a través de un servicio de

PARA INTRODUCIR UNA PAUSA EN LA SECUENCIA DE MARCADO
Oprima el botón para pausa (“#”) para introducir un retraso en la secuencia de
marcado de un número telefónico almacenado cuando una pausa es necesaria
para esperar al tono de marcar (por ejemplo después de que usted marca 9 para
obtener línea externa, o para esperar e tono de acceso en una computadora). Cada
pausa cuenta como 1 dígito en la secuencia de marcado. La pausa se representa
en la pantalla con una “P.”
PARA REVISAR Y BORRAR NÚMEROS ALMACENADOS
1. Oprima el botón de memoria.
2. Utilice los botones para revisar los archivos del Identificador de Llamadas
(“CID/VOL”) con la flecha hacia la izquierda (-) o hacia la derecha (+) para

OPERACIÓN DE LA MÁQUINA CONTESTADORA
Esta sección habla sobre los botones y funciones de su máquina contestadora.
INDICADOR DE MENSAJES
El indicador luminoso en la base le muestra cuántos mensajes nuevos ha recibido.
El botón de encendido/apagado (ON/OFF) de la contestadora debe estar encendido
para que el indicador de mensajes funcione.

PARA FILTRAR LLAMADAS DESDE LA BASE
Usted puede filtrar las llamadas entrantes simplemente escuchando hasta que la
persona que llama deje un mensaje (para saber quién llama), después levante el
auricular, y oprima el botón “TALK/CALLBACK” para hablar con la persona que
llama. La máquina contestadora automáticamente deja de grabar cuando usted
activa el auricular o levanta una extensión del teléfono.
SUGERENCIA: Asegúrese de que el volumen en la base está programado lo
suficientemente alto para que escuche sus llamadas entrantes.
PARA REPRODUCIR MENSAJES
El indicador de la base la hace saber cuando usted tiene mensajes. Para reproducir
mensajes, oprima el botón “PLAY/STOP” del auricular o de la base.
Si usted utiliza el auricular para reproducir un mensaje, asegúrese de que el
auricular esté desactivado (OFF) y oprima el botón “format/answerer” para tener

mensajes nuevos.
PARA BORRAR MENSAJES

NOTA: Los mensajes borrados no pueden ser recuperados. También tenga
cuidado de no oprimir el botón “erase” mientras se reproduce el siguiente
mensaje no escuchado porque también ese mensaje será borrado.
PARA DEJAR UN RECADO (MEMO)
Utilice la función de Memo para dejar un recado.
1. Oprima y sostenga el botón “memo”. Usted debe mantener oprimido el botón
hasta que termine su recado.
2. Empiece a hablar después de que escucha el tono.
3. Suelte el botón “memo” una vez que haya terminado.
ACCESO REMOTO
Esta sección explica dos tipos de acceso remoto: utilizando el auricular para tener
acceso a la máquina contestadora, y ganar acceso a la máquina contestadora
desde otro teléfono.
El auricular contiene botones integrados que le permiten tener acceso a la
máquina contestadora con el auricular.
Usted también puede tener acceso a su máquina contestadora desde cualquier
teléfono que sea compatible con la modalidad para marcar por tono (tone),
simplemente inscribiendo su código de seguridad de 3 dígitos después de que
usted escucha el anuncio saliente. Un sistema de menú de voz le guía a través de
todos los procedimientos.
CÓMO UTILIZAR EL AURICULAR
Oprima el botón “format/answerer” para tener acceso a la máquina contestadora
desde el auricular inalámbrico.

MEMORIA LLENA
Cuando la memoria está llena, el sistema contesta después de 10 timbres, emite un
tono, y espera a que la persona que llama inscriba el código de seguridad de 3
dígitos. Si el código de seguridad no se inscribe dentro de los 10 segundos después
de que el aparato reproduce el anuncio, el aparato emite un tono y cuelga.
Usted necesita borrar algunos de los mensajes para que el sistema pueda grabar
nuevos mensajes entrantes.
NOTA: El aparato también contesta después del 10o. timbre si el aparato está
desactivado. Para tener acceso al contestador desde otro teléfono, inscriba su
código de seguridad de 3 dígitos después de que usted escuche el tono.

Usted puede tener acceso a su máquina contestadora desde un teléfono con
modalidad de tono, inscribiendo su código de seguridad de 3 dígitos después de

OPERACIÓN DEL AUDÍFONO Y BROCHE DEL CINTURÓN
CONEXIÓN DEL AUDÍFONO AL AURICULAR
Para una conversación con las manos libres, utilice unos audífonos con su
auricular inalámbrico.
1. Conecte los audífonos al enchufe marcado “HEADSET” al costado del auricular.
La bocina del auricular y el micrófono se desactivan cuando los audífonos están
enchufados.
2. Ajuste los audífonos para que descansen cómodamente sobre su cabeza y
alrededor de su oreja. Mueva el micrófono a 2 o 3 pulgadas de su boca
aproximadamente.

PARA CAMBIAR LA BATERÍA
Asegúrese de que el teléfono esté desactivado (OFF) antes de que usted

1. Quite la puerta del compartimento de la batería.
2. Desconecte el cable de la batería del enchufe dentro del
compartimientos de la batería y saque el paquete de la
batería.

• El aparato muestra este mensaje si detecta
cualquier cosa que no sea información válida del Identificador de

Lo que cubre su garantía:
